SAS Scandinavian Airlines Business Class
SAS business class offers lie-flat seats on long-haul A350 and A330 aircraft with Scandinavian design, now part of SkyTeam alliance after joining in 2024.
SAS Scandinavian Airlines is the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, operating from hubs in Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo. The airline has been a pioneer in transatlantic aviation since the 1950s and today serves destinations across North America, Asia, and Europe. In September 2024, SAS transitioned from Star Alliance to SkyTeam following its acquisition by Air France-KLM, marking a major shift for frequent flyers in the region.
Seat and cabin
The Airbus A350-900 features SAS’s newest business class product with a 1-2-1 staggered layout, direct aisle access, and a 21-inch-wide lie-flat seat extending to 76 inches. Each seat includes a 17.3-inch touchscreen, USB-C and AC power, and Scandinavian design touches with clean lines and muted tones. The A330-300 uses an older 1-2-1 layout with Thompson Vantage-style staggered seats that are lie-flat but narrower. The A321LR serves long-haul European and select transatlantic routes with a recliner-style business class seat — not lie-flat.
Dining and service
SAS emphasises New Nordic cuisine with seasonal menus featuring Scandinavian ingredients — smoked salmon, Nordic cheeses, rye bread, and lingonberry accompaniments. Meals are served on Scandinavian-designed tableware. The wine list includes Nordic spirits alongside international selections. Service is efficient and friendly in the understated Scandinavian style, focusing on quality over ostentation.
Lounge access
SAS operates lounges at Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo airports. The SAS Lounge at CPH offers hot Scandinavian dishes, a coffee bar, showers, and a business centre. SAS Business and SkyTeam Elite Plus members have access. At outstations, SAS now uses SkyTeam partner lounges, replacing the previous Star Alliance lounge network. The transition has improved access at some airports while reducing it at others.
